Il Corriere dello Sport claim that Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has told President Aurelio De Laurentiis that his time at the club is over. Giuntoli has reportedly agreed terms on a five-year contract with Juventus, but is yet to ‘free himself’ from the final year of his contract with the Partenopei.
“The sporting director is in Genoa, at home, stationary and, above all, frozen: he told De Laurentiis that he believes his relationship is over, and the president answered him that he will still have to respect the contract until 2024. A very complex situation.”
De Laurentiis recently said of the situation:
“Giuntoli has a contract with us until June 30, 2024, so I don’t see the reason for the question. We are not here to talk about the sporting director or even less about the coach, then I will answer, but we are here to talk about something else, the retreat in Abruzzo, do you have questions about the bears in Abruzzo? If in a context where Napoli, rightly or wrongly, was considered the 17th club among the top 50, why do you have any interest in talking about the sporting director?
