Roma begin talks for Gianluca Scamacca

Start

Roma have reportedly made initial contacts to sound out the possibility of signing West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca. The Giallorossi are in the market for a new forward after Tammy Abraham was ruled out for at least 4 months following an ACL injury in the last game of the season.

Goal Italia report that Roma’s transfer market strategies radically changed following Abraham’s knee injury, which could keep him out for longer than initially expected.

In Trigoria they are thinking about a replacement who can live up to the English striker, with Scamacca becoming a more concrete operation.

Goal claim that Roma have already opened the first channels of communication with West Ham to sound out the profile of the Azzurri striker, who is currently returning from injury himself.

It would be a return to the Giallorossi for Scamacca, who played in Roma’s youth academy from 2012 to 2015 before moving to the Netherlands, to PSV Eindhoven’s academy. The offer to West Ham is likely to be an initial loan with the possibility of some kind of option to buy.
