Gazzetta: Allegri could leave Juventus

Start

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Juventus coach Max Allegri could leave the club after receiving an offer from a Saudi Arabian team. The news comes after Juve CEO Maurizio Scanavino confirmed that the club planned to continue with Allegri for the upcoming season, an announcement that was met with the consternation of many fans.

Todays Gazzetta reports that a ‘mammoth’ has arrived from Saudi Arabia, with talks between emissaries from Riyadh and the Juventus coach having ‘intensified’ in recent days. Allegri will reportedly ‘reveal his cards’ in the next 24-48 hours, with a meeting set to take place in Monte Carlo after which Allegri will make a decision on his future.

The intermediaries, directors of the mission dubbed “Allegri of Arabia,” will introduce the Juventus coach directly to the owner of a Saudi club willing to ‘shower him with gold’ in order to convince him to leave Juventus two years before his contract expires (2025).

There is great secrecy about the club who’s interested for the moment, but the suggestion is that it’s one of the two Saudi Arabian ‘biggies’ in the hunt for a big name on the nemch. One is Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr, who has said goodbye to Rudi Garcia in recent months. And the other is that Al-Hilal, who had unsuccessfully attemped to sign Lionel Messi this summer.

According to Gazzetta, the clues lead right to Al-Hilal, who have in recent days already been in talks with Tite, the former Brazil coach. It’s rumored that it could be three/four times the coach’s current salary (€7 million plus bonuses).

The report outlines how Juventus could save close to €40 million if Allegri were to leave, leaving them free to pursue Igor Tudor, who has recently left Marseille.
