Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu says the team will take to the pitch without fear in the Champions League final against Man City. The Premier League side are massive favourites for the tie, but speaking to Sky Sport Italia ahead of the game, the Turkish international explained how he and his teammates have improved since their last Champions League exit last season, and their willingness to leave everything on the pitch tonight:
“I am happy to be here, in my country, this gives me even more confidence and strength. I hope we will play a great game.”
“City favourites? I know everyone says they are favourites, it’s okay. We only look at us, it’s no accident that we are here in the final. We have dominated so many games, we take to the pitch without fear. I don’t like to talk before matches, I hope to have a good interview after the game.”
“There are no secrets, we will continue what we have done so far, we will play our game as always. Everyone knows that Manchester City is strong, but we are looking forward to taking the field, we want to write history.”
“Already last year we played well but went out. This year we have improved both in terms of our game and mentally, we have played so many finals. We are already mentally prepared to suffer because they play well. We put our hearts on the field and leave everything we have on the playing field, I am very confident.”
