Arthur Melo and Denis Zakaria are set to return to Juventus this summer after Liverpool and Chelsea decided against signing them outright. Melo spent the season on loan with the Merseyside club, but an injury early into his loan spell saw him miss a large portion of the season, making just 1 appearance in the whole campaign. Liverpool had an option to purchase Brazilian midfielder Melo for €37.5 million but have decided against making his move permenant.
His agent Federico Pastorello has now confirmed to Sky Sport Italia that his client will be making the move back to Turin for the summer at least,
“Melo will return to Juve. Liverpool said so too and we will probably have to find another solution for him, because he is not in Allegri’s tactical plans.”
“We must work to find a solution. The injury kept him out for four months and he didn’t have much room.”
It’s the same story for Zakaria who was on loan at Chelsea with a €33 million option. Writing on Instagram, the Swiss midfielder also confirmed he will be leaving the Blues in the weeks ahead:
It‘s been a tough time but you guys always had my back. Thanks to everyone who‘s been supporting me! Let’s focus on the beautiful memories.
